In “It’s a Deal”, a look back discloses that popular personality Alastor the Radio Demon was a mass murderer in his human life. Knowing full well he was headed to the underworld, he made contact with the afterlife beforehand to obtain a powerful role there. The charismatic leader, the charismatic leader Hell’s cannibal community, vowed Alastor he would become “the most powerful Sinner in Hell” in exchange for his soul.

This prompts an important query: How is this character sufficiently strong to raise Alastor over every other Demonic Sinners?

“The Rosie and Alastor deal is the initial building block in a much bigger story that involves a great deal, leading into season 3,” the showrunner states. “Clearly that is an excellent question: How is she so strong? The answer could be various factors, but the answer is in season 3. I am thrilled for people to witness it.”

There’s no telling how long viewers will have to wait for Hazbin Hotel’s third season. The production companies have approved the third and fourth seasons, but the creator often notes that animated production is a slow, lengthy process, and subsequent seasons have no release dates yet. Still, she states holding off on specific information is a crucial aspect of keeping season 2’s attention in the right places.

“The difficulty of any agreement with demons, or stories that have enigmas, is giving people just enough information to be like, Something's up here, and then revealing that gradually, and allowing that be gratifying,” she says. “So I am quite eager.”

Questions Answered in Season 3

The creator assures that the upcoming season will tackle the questions fans have been posing, like why Rosie commanded Alastor to disappear for a seven-year period, which diminished his influence in the infernal realm.

“The entire seven-year span, and the pacts these individuals are making, and all that — it contributes to a larger story,” she reveals.

Meanwhile, the Rosie/Alastor backstory episode provides a further look into what the main characters of Demonic Sinners appeared as as mortals, following after seeing another character's Victorian-era human form in episode 2. The creator says that a lot of thought went into these character designs.

“The human versions of the characters hold great significance,” she notes. “They range from appearing quite distinct from their infernal version to seeming very similar. With the first character, the first one we see, there was a little bit of a debate internally between choosing a design that represents the personality, as opposed to selecting an option that's historically correct. We opted for making a design that just felt like it was him.”

She says the primary controversy over the mortal look of Pentious was his lengthy locks: “We were like, ‘Nobody really had long hair like that in that historical period.’ But at the same time, we think the silhouette is extremely crucial, and we also just felt he appeared attractive. We were like, ‘This seems correct.’ We kind of provided the rationale that he lived in seclusion, so he just allowed his hair to lengthen. So there's always a way. As we create the mortal forms of these characters […] it is a very enjoyable process to investigate and determine. I am looking forward for people to view additional of the appearances of the human versions.”
